PALEOGRAPHY

Having difficulty reading those records?  Perhaps you need a few lessons in Paleography.  Paleography is the study of ancient languages. Even those who understand the language have difficulty reading the old handwriting and print. FINDFAM includes document translations with our research reports. We will also translate documents for those who wish to do their own research.  Clients may submit documents electronically or by mail.  We accept scanned, photographed, and photocopied documents. LANGUAGES

FINDFAM will provide translations (transferring ideas from one language into another) or transcriptions (taking a poorly difficult to read document and writing it in the same language but in a readable format) in many languages.  These languages include German, French, Latin, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Hebrew.  Many German records contain other languages such as French, Latin and Hebrew.  Other languages are also available on request.  Do you have a document in a language you don't recognize?  Send us a copy and we will let you know what language it is in, free of charge!  If FINDFAM is unable to assist a client with a language, we will help clients find a suitable Paleographer.  We will also help you learn how to read languages upon request.
